"AccessBus is operating a limited service for existing customers who need to travel for essential shopping and is being limited to five passengers per vehicle to enable social distancing. The service is currently operating across all districts and face coverings must be worn on the bus. As capacity is limited, we are encouraging people not to use AccessBus if they have other alternative methods of getting shopping" - AccessBus Team.
About the AccessBus Service
AccessBus is a dial-a-ride bus service providing door-to-door local transport, seven days a week between 9am and 5pm.
Who is it for?
Anyone of any age can register for AccessBus but it is of particular benefit to those unable to use regular bus services. Drivers can assist passengers door-to-door, including boarding and alighting.
Buses are fully accessible with low floors, are fitted with seat-belts and the most up-to-date safety equipment for wheelchairs and other mobility aids. Assistance dogs are welcome to travel onboard.
Where can I go?
Most journeys are for local shopping purposes but we can provide a limited number of journeys for social purposes - places of worship and community centres for example.
The service is FREE for passengers holding an ENCT pass, otherwise a flat fare or £3 per journey applies.
